Description
The latest set of digital Postcode polygon boundaries covering the United Kingdom (excluding Ithe Channel Islands) created from the latest Ordnance Survey Code-Point data and Royal Mail information.
These boundaries provide the geographical extent for UK Postcode Sectors, Districts and Areas and are available in a wide range of formats for use in many GIS including MapInfo, Arcview and Google Earth.
This latest version of the Postcode boundary data includes improved coastal and estuary polygons, Northern Ireland Postcode boundaries and the coastline for EIRE for reference.
Postcode boundaries are the ideal framework with which to analyse customer locations and retail networks and also organise and plan sales territory structures and franchise areas.

Postcode District Definition
A Postcode District is the first half of the Postcode (e.g. UB7 from UB7 0EB). There are approximately 2,800 Postcode Districts covering the UK - Districts are often used for sales territory and franchise area applications.
Postcode Area Definition
