Free Postcode Finders
We receive many requests for a free Postcode finder which allows people to quickly and simply find a Postcode for an address and check that it is current and accurate.
The file which contains every Postcode and address in the UK is called the Postcode Address File (PAF for short). PAF is maintained and kept up to date by Royal Mail. But to do so is a costly process and therefore in order to provide access to the data requires the payment of royalties to Royal Mail.
However, there are a few sites that allow you to check Postcodes for free as follows:
Free Postcode Finder from Royal Mail
The first is to go to the source itself! The best way to find and check a Postcode for free is to actually use Royal Mail's own Postcode search tool.
You need to enter text to prove you are human and you only get 15 searches per day but it is reliable and accurate and is the data that all other systems use. Click here to visit the site >>
Free Postcode Search Tools on Other Sites
If you need to check more than 15 Postcodes or don't like proving you are human every time then there are a few more free Postcode search tools available as follows:
PostcodeAnywhere's Address Finder demo is very pretty and easy to use but restricts you to 5 Postcode searches per day. However you can get more free credits by registering. Visit the site >>
Capscan's free Postcode checker also restricts you to 15 searches per day but is easy to use and is quick. Visit the site >>
Hopewiser's Free Address Search allows up to 15 Postcode and address searches per day but again is free, quick and easy to use and doesn't require a login. Visit the site >>
