Aberdeenshire, Moray and Angus
Aberdeenshire is a Scottish Highland county with a coastline that rounds the Cold Shoulder of Scotland on which coast are the fishing towns of Fraserburgh and Peterhead. The county's coast then stretches round to Aberdeen and the River Dee. Aberdeenshire reaches inland deep into the Grampian Mountains where the county is largely mountain and forest containing several Munroes (mountains over 3,000 feet) but with fertile valleys. The City of Aberdeen is the heart of the North Sea oil business and has made Aberdeen one of Britain's wealthiest towns and a centre of engineering excellence.
To the West of Aberdeenshire nestled between the Highlands and the lower farmlands lies Moray, a small but stunning county with the administrative capital of Elgin. And to the South lies the county of Angus, a small scenic county stretching from rugged highlands in the North to rolling hills, valleys and coastal plains of the South with the county town and administrative centre of Forfar.
